I knew I wanted to wear this vintage necklace on my wedding day, the hard part was finding a pair of pearl earrings that matched the look. Everyone at NEWTW!ST was so helpful in finding the right earrings and I love the way the look turned out! It is so great because my something old and something new looked so perfect together without being super matchy-matchy! Thanks again NEWTW!ST!

Jamie Joseph… we’re addicted

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

Last night I went to my first cocktail party of the holiday season, and I decided to borrow our NEW Jamie Joseph Rock Crystal Twin Locket Necklace.  I wore dark denim jeans, my studded frye boots, and a black silk top, which were complemented perfectly with this modern locket.  The oxidized sterling chain paired with the gold accented crystals makes the necklace both dressy and casual.  The length of the chain is 34”, which is a great style for layering, but last night I wore it solo and it stole the show.  I was already addicted to Jamie Joseph’s rings and now that I have taken it out on a test drive I can add this necklace to my Christmas wish list!

Inspirations

Sunday, November 22nd, 2009

Working in an environment where I am constantly surrounded by art, I always find it interesting to see how inspiration is translated from one medium to another. Our most recent Klimt- inspired collection by Alexis Bittar left me completely spellbound. Each one of his paintings has such lightness to it while still maintaining to be somewhat haunting and eerie. I was so captivated by the jewelry that I began to research Gustav Klimt, and I just had to share some of my favorites! Enjoy!

I wear both my Jeanine Payer and Victoria Cunningham necklaces everyday, they were both given to me as gifts and even though I moved recently I still feel like I carry my friends with me when I am wearing these pieces. Jeanine Payer has always been one of my favorites, her jewelry is so powerful and meaningful. Victoria Cunningham is a newer one for me because I wanted to incorporate a little more gold into my jewelry collection, and this piece layers so perfectly! The next thing on my list is the Aurora Lopez-Mejia Love necklace,  her heavy hand-stamped gold is so gorgeous!

  • — Thanks Liz! We love how you layered the two different artists, what a cool look! Pieces like this are great because they are beautiful, effortless and low key.

We Love Wikkitz!

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

We are absolutely loving the new Wikkitz bracelets not only are they eco-friendly they are also an inexpensive way to re-vamp your entire jewelry collection! Great to layer on with other bracelets as shown above in Colleen’s look or sweet as a solo piece like Jenny  and I are rocking. At $25.00, a Wikkitz cuff is a great gift for all the ladies on your holiday shopping list. Plus, the coconut button clasp has two size options so they will fit most everyone!

Wikkitz works closely with a community of women in southeast Asia who help make the designs. There aren’t a lot of work options available for these women, most of whom are mothers, and it’s been important to Wikkitz to find alternate forms of employment for them than what they have available.Crocheting these bracelets gives them the opportunity to work from home at their convenience and without having to leave their kids in the care of someone else. Not only will you look fashionable, but you can feel great also knowing you are helping to promote women starting their own small businesses.

Show & Tell

Show & Tell Winner: Mary Gorretta

I wore jewelry by Jude Frances on my wedding day, last October. They were actually my something borrowed – Thank you NEWTW!ST!! The earrings and necklace went perfectly with my dress and were just the perfect touch! I loved the earrings and that you could wear the hoops alone or add the enhancers for a more dramatic touch. My dear Husband bought me the hoops as a wedding gift! It was so, so sweet because the hoops are the perfect everyday earrings and now I get to wear them as a daily reminder of the most special day in our lives, for any occasion, big or small.

  • Thanks Mary! What a beautiful couple and the jewelry looks amazing! Congratulations and we are so glad that you chose us to be a part of your special day.

Here’s Hannah wearing one of our new Albeit Necklaces…so sweet as a solo piece but also ideal for layering, each one of us has a favorite! Whether it is the number, symbol or letter that your love each piece has such a secret special meaning that is known solely by the wearer. Here are some of our picks…

Maura: “My favorite is the 5 because there are 5 people in my family. They are all in California so this is my sweet little reminder that they are always with me in spirit. “

Natalie: “I wear the number 1 because that has always been my lucky number and I absolutely love the thin flash of gold on my neck.”

Jenny: “I am drawn to the number 8 because of the overwhelming population of women in my family… we share a special bond between us and it is a little homage to the strength and support they have given me over the years.”

Hannah: “The 7 necklace is my favorite because it is my lucky number! I also graduated in 2007 so it serves as a subtle reminder for a big milestone in my life.”

Other sweet ideas we’ve stolen from our customers:

Maggie:  “The 3 is on my wish list! For my two sons and newborn daughter”

Jay: “I bought the ampersand symbol for my fiancé because for the rest of our lives it will always be her & I.”

Rachel: “The asterisk reminds me of a small starfish, I love the whimsical and unexpected quality it has layered up with my other necklaces!”
