Japanese artist Yuko Kikuchi’s work was conceived from a multifaceted foundation. From Tokyo, to New York, and Los Angeles, Yuko Kikuchi’s early years provided opportunities to experience different cultures and backgrounds. She recalls the delicacy and sensitivity of childhood handcrafts, decoration, and arts from that time in her designs. After receiving her Bachelor’s degree in law from Keio University, Yuko’s passion for art led her to Germany where she trained under Uwe Geissler and Margret Pitzler. Yuko found enlightenment in the art of porcelain painting, enamored by its inherent beauty and timelessness. Currently, her work reflects said beauty, pulled from elegant Japanese aesthetics and sophisticated European techniques. Yuko sees her pieces as expressions of her culture which appreciates the intricacy of nature and human tenderness.
