I have been designing and making jewelry in Eugene, Oregon since 1983, and have operated my own studio since 1994. I work in precious metals and a variety of gemstones, finding the range of color and the durability of diamonds and sapphires particularly appealing. Much of my work is commissioned or chosen to mark a special occasion or milestone, and is designed for that purpose. I rely on traditional form and function as guides- each piece will be comfortable to wear every day, and will be constructed well of quality materials that can withstand that wear. This somewhat utilitarian approach is satisfying for me as the artist and hopefully for the wearer of my work as well. I relish the possibility that objects created from materials conceived in the earth generations ago, may be worn and appreciated for generations to come.
