Who we are

We are NEWTWIST. We sell jewelry and housewares on our website here at www.newtwist.com and at our store at 296 E. Fifth Ave., Eugene, OR 97401. You can reach us at 541-342-8686, or at info@newtwist.com.

General philosophy

We acknowledge and respect that privacy is important to our valued customers, and we have taken the steps outlined in this Privacy Policy to protect the security and privacy of any personal information our customers have provided to us.

We will not release personal information about customers without their permission, except as required by court order, subpoena, or applicable law. We do not sell, trade, or rent customers’ personal information to outside companies or marketing firms.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

We collect information about you during the checkout process on our store. While you visit our site, we’ll track:

  • Products you’ve viewed: we’ll use this to, for example, show you products you’ve recently viewed
  • Location, IP address and browser type: we’ll use this for purposes like estimating taxes and shipping, if necessary

When you purchase from us, we’ll ask you to provide information including your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, credit card/payment details and optional account information like username and password. We’ll use this information to:

  • Send you information about your account and order
  • Respond to your requests, including returns, questions or complaints
  • Process payments and prevent fraud
  • Set up your account for our store
  • Improve our store offerings
  • Send you marketing messages, if you choose to receive them

If you create an account, we will store your name, address, email and phone number, which will be used to populate the checkout for future orders. You are not required to create an account to order from us.

We generally keep records of all orders through the site indefinitely for our internal record-keeping. This includes your name, email address and billing and shipping addresses.

Who on our team has access

Members of our team have access to the information you provide us. For example, both Administrators and Shop Managers can access:

  • Order information like what was purchased, when it was purchased and where it should be sent, and
  • Customer information like your name, email address, and billing and shipping information.

Our team members have access to this information to help fulfill orders, process refunds and support you.

What we share with others

We share information with third parties who help us provide our orders and store services to you; for example:

  • PAYMENTS: Authorize.net is the third party that processes credit card payments for us. We do not store any of your credit card information, but your name and payment information is passed along to Authorize.net so they can process payment. If you have questions about that data, you may access Authorize.net’s privacy policy.
  • EMAIL MARKETING: If you choose to join our mailing list, we pass your name and email address along to a third party, MailChimp, which we use to manage our newsletters and other mailings. See MailChimp’s privacy policy.
  • SHIPPING: If you place an order with us, we share some data about your package and delivery address with UPS, so they can create a shipping label for us. See UPS’s privacy policy.
  • TRANSACTIONAL EMAIL: Transactional email for orders, password recovery etc., is handled by a service called Mailgun. You may visit Mailgun’s privacy policy.

Cookies

We use “cookies” to keep track of cart contents while you’re browsing our site.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
